Careers in Marketing at Tenato Strategy

Working in the field of marketing means you might be doing almost anything. At Tenato, there are certain skill sets we seek as in-house talent, and others that we need only occasionally, and therefore prefer to contract on an as-needed basis.

Table of Contents

In-House: Consulting & Research Talents

The in-house talents we seek are those at the core of what we do, and require our unique stamp. This means it might take months or years to develop the right person into these roles. They include our Consultants and Consulting Apprentices, as well as our Research team.

Our Consultants, whether senior or apprentices, need to be trained in business, marketing and have experience in business-to-business sales. This is because they are advising business leaders, and therefore need to have a very deep understanding of what it might take to grow a business and the obstacles to overcome. Exceptionally good interpersonal skills are a must as well, since Consultants will be managing the client accounts, will be scoping out projects and helping to price them. Ideally, a person has owned a business in the past, or worked as a multi-tasker in a very small business so that they understand the strategic aspects firsthand.

Our Research team members might be one of two kinds: 1) A primary, qualitative researcher – this is a people-oriented researcher who is adept at handling depth interviews or moderating focus groups, or 2) A secondary researcher – which is a more a technical position that gathers, analyzes and summarizes data. For quantitative surveys, both these types of researchers will collaborate to refine the wording and perfect the question structure.

Contracted Technical Resources at Tenato Strategy

Tenato already has a core of technical resources in house (including graphic design, website programming, content writing, sales training, CRM setup), but clients sometimes require other, specialized technical talents or skills. For this, we source from a vetted pool of contractors. In fact, we test nearly all such new talents with our own projects before unleashing them on our clients.

These might include the following, and we are always open to new, Canadian-based talents in these areas.

  • Photography (in all its varieties)
  • Videography
  • Social Media (often we train our clients to do this themselves)
  • SEO & Digital Marketing
  • Advanced Programming (note: we do not offer app development at Tenato)

Current Openings

We keep our eyes open for new talent. If you have something unique to bring to the table, don’t hesitate to inquire, whether you’d prefer a contract or in-house arrangement. Depending on your skills, you may fit either on a part-time, full-time or as-needed basis.

Keep in mind that we are busy, so if you really want to get our attention, please write a specific introductory email (even if it is brief), and include a few samples of your work, especially if it’s relevant to the job at hand, for example a research report you created, or a sample video you produced.
